what a freakin joke .... $99 / wk ..... if i didnt live with my parents my rent would cost more than that
ouch that sucks.. when i was on EI last december to july i was getting 812 a month. now since im on regular welfare now i only get 610 a month. i live with my parents as well. they get 375 for rent utilities included. and i get 235. but out of my money i have to pay for my truck and visa card.
That is pretty low... at least you do live with your parents now... it would suck if you were out on your own...
whats even funnier is im good till 11/27/2010!!

Living with your parents ard collecting unemployment checks? I think you should be glad to get anything at all in that situation! lol j/k
Normally when you draw unemployment, they base your benefits off of a time period some 9-12 months before or something, maybe longer before that. Every state is probably a little different. I have only collected 1 week a few years back, and I also only got $99/week. Fortunately I had a job lined up and started the next week though.
I just couldn't seem to muster any sympathy after reading this thread. I'll keep trying though.

Or mexican....My roomate gets over $200 a week. He got paid pretty good when he was working though. Since his work gets a new owner in less than a month, he will probably be going back....If he would go and get his ****ing liscense back
Yea i wouldnt complain about free money either. Im sure their are some jobs available just if you want to do them. Well if by visa card you mean a credit card that is your first problem. You could probably save more money if you would get rid of the card and quit over spending your budget. Just my two cents
I work at Mcdonalds, it's all I could find. I went from taking home about $600 a week to about $450 a week to nothing within 2 months. I was working for TRW but that ended when Chrysler filed bankruptcy and canceled all of their contracts. I went unemployed for 3 months after that last year. I walked in to a local Mcdonalds and said ah hell why not. Put in an application and had a job before I could blink. I aint exactly on easy street, but something is better than nothing. And on a side note I'm white. I thought a man of my age wouldn't get on there, but I was prooved wrong. They gave me a job when no one else would or could.
lol at people that think its free money, as far as i know paying into ei is mandatory when you work, at least it is here, so unless you work under the table then id say you earned it.
I filed for the first time a few weeks ago. My first check was supposed to come on friday but never came. Im supposed to get 128 per week. Not much but will get me through.
I know Im paying for it...i think you should only get it for 30 days..there are plenty of jobs to get..when you have no money you should take anything! |
